International Shooting Competition
with semi-automatic shotgun with metal sights only, target at 100 meters,
at Bamburi Shooting Range in Mombasa (Kenya).
COMPETITION RULES

PARTICIPANTS
Individuals or teams of 3 elements (military or sports or mixed) can register for the race.
Military:
serving in the Armed and Police Forces in KENYA and NATO countries;
Sportsmen:
all those in possession of a valid firearms license in their respective countries (Kenya and NATO).
All participants in the competition and their companions, with the sole presence on the shooting range, agree to leave the Organization and the Management of the Range unharmed from any liability for damage to persons or property that may occur during the event.
ARMAMENT
1st SMM – Q 33 – in teams of 3 Semiauto Metallic Sights
2nd S-SMM – Single Semi-Auto Metallic Sights
Semi-automatic shotguns are allowed, type M16, M4, AR15, SL8, AK47 and clones, with metal sights only.
All gauges allowed except 22lr, 22 PPC, 6 PPC, 6.5×47 Lapua, 6.5 / 284, 6 BR, 30 BR, 7,62, 308 Win
SMM – S-SMM – During each competition session the three team members must use the same weapon (owned or, if requested at the time of registration, provided by the organization); a different weapon can only be used in a possible subsequent session.
Only magazines with a length shorter than that of the rifle handle are allowed; all magazines are prohibited (generally those with 30 or more rounds) which, being longer than the handle, can allow the rifle to rest on the firing counter; magazines which, despite being shorter, are equipped with pads, extractors or extensions that make them longer than the grip are also prohibited.
Magazines supplied to the team: minimum 2, maximum 4 (recommended choice).
Accessories such as straps, tripods and the like are not allowed, which can facilitate support or create an obstacle to movement, the weapon for the competition must be in standard configuration (see example in the photo: factory weapon, 4 magazines with 5 shots each , further shots 20 + 20, see photo).
To partecipate
the Team Leader must fill in the registration form complete with all required data.
the Individual must complete the registration form complete with all data requested.
EQUIPMENT
The use of hearing protection and goggles is mandatory; The use of shooting glasses, irises, lens hoods, shooting jackets and shooting gloves (UITS / ISSF) is prohibited.
For the military, participation in S.Cbt uniform is welcome. in use at the relevant Department.
Participating Reserve personnel in uniform are subject to military discipline.
WEAPONS CONTROL
The Organization provides for the control of weapons, accessories and clothing on the basis of the data provided in the registration; in the event that the identification of a firearm may generate doubts, it will be the responsibility of the Team Leader to present suitable documentation for acceptance of the same.
The acceptance of weapons and accessories is however at the sole discretion of the Organization.
TARGETS
The targets used are 2:
- in figure 1 it refers to the teams of 3 elements
- are placed at m. 100 and only one figure for each shooter must be engaged with the order agreed between the shooters.
- in figure 2 it relates to the single shooter
- placed at m. 100 and must be hired.

RACE CONDUCT
Each team or individual shooter on call:
- will appear on the shooting line corresponding to the color assigned to the control:
- equipped with 60 rounds and magazines (recommended 4) which must be no less than 2 and no more than 4.
- The shots (40) for the second and third shooter must be placed in the special container provided by the organization. The single shooter will have only 20 already inside the magazines.
- The first shooter’s shots (20) must be in the magazines, 5 shots per magazine (regardless of their capacity); if the team has fewer than 4 magazines available, the rounds (5 or 10) that cannot be inserted in the magazine (s) must in any case be positioned visibly on the counter.
- Each shooter will have to fire a maximum of 20 shots.
- Each shooter must make 4 magazine changes including the initial one.
NOTICE: the individual or team that takes more than 20 or 60 shots to the shooting lines, even if not visible, will be disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Extra shot (s) in the magazine (over 5 allowed) results in the team being disqualified.
The team will find the rifle for the match on the shooting stand.
It will be the responsibility of the team using the owned firearm to verify that the rifle on the shooting stand corresponds to the one delivered to the control.
All shooters must shoot from position on the ground with their elbows on the shooting range without any kind of support for both weapon and hands; the weapon must be supported by the hands and the butt on the shoulder; the firearm and hands must not touch the shooting range.
TEAM RACE
At the command “SHOOTERS PREPARE” the first competitor of the team will position himself on the shooting stand, firearm unloaded and magazines on the table;
at the command “SHOOTERS LOAD” a magazine is inserted
at the command “ARMARE SHOOTERS” he loads the weapon and points;
at the START whistle the time will start (3 minutes for the single and 8 minutes for the whole team) and shooting will start;
once his 20 shots are finished and the magazine removed, the first shooter will give way to the second;
once his 20 shots are finished and the magazine removed, the second shooter will give way to the third shooter;
the match time will be that elapsed between the starting whistle and the 20th shot fired by the third shooter, or the 60th shot of the team.
Any jams must, if possible, be resolved by the shooter also with the help of the other team members but they will not give the right to extend the competition time or to repeat it.
It is possible to recover from the ground and re-use only the shots in the match kit (60).
In the case of one or more shots damaged, due to jams or other and no longer usable, it will be the shooter’s responsibility, to indicate the end of the test, to raise his hand so that the MRO blocks the time; missing hits will be scored with zero points.
NOTICE any damaged shots CANNOT be replaced with others (if this is done it causes the disqualification of the team).
The event of the team that fails to fire at least 50 shots or that fails to fire all three shooters will be considered void or not valid for the team ranking.
The order of the shooters on the shooting platform is not bound to anything, each shooter will have to shoot at the template he will have indicated to his teammates, if at the end of the test there are more than 20 shots on the template, the worst 20 will be counted.
The change between one shooter and the next is part of the match time. One of the shooters can reload the magazines when empty, no accessories are allowed for reloading the magazines, but it must be done with only the hands, shot shot; the spotter function is allowed for the detection of shots but only by a member of the team.
It is again specified that:
- each shooter must shoot from a sitting position with the elbows on the counter without any type of support for both weapon and hands;
- the rifle cannot be placed in any of its parts on the shooting bench;
- the shooter’s hands cannot be placed on the shooting counter;
- each shooter must fire a maximum of 20 shots;
- the magazine change must be carried out with the finger outside the guard;
- when changing between shooters the firearm must be unloaded and without magazine inserted;
- however, each shooter must make four magazine changes including the initial one.
VIOLATIONS OF THESE RULES LEAD TO PENALTY OF 10 POINTS PER EVENT
NOTICE for unsportsmanlike behavior of even one shooter, the team will be disqualified a shot NOT through the shooting window will result in the team being disqualified.
SCORE
- team:
sum of the scores of the three team members.
RANKINGS
- Teams: In descending order of score.
In the event of a tie, the best placement is assigned to:
-
- the highest number of hits on target, if always tied
- the highest number of mouches, if always tied
- the shortest team time.
SINGLE RACE
2° S-SMM the same rules apply as for 1st category except for the time which will be 3 minutes and the shooter may have the support of any spotter.

NOTICE
Shooters or teams of shooters without a regular rifle and the shots necessary for the competition may, by requesting it in advance:
- rent the rifles made available by the organization for the competition.
- buy the shots for the competition.
The costs for the rental of the rifle and the shots necessary for the competition are as follows:
- Kes 10,000.00 single weapon per team of three elements
- Kes 10,000.00 single weapon for single shooter.
- Kes 9,000.00 for 60 shots, required for the team of 3 shooters (20 shots per shooter).
- Kes 3,000.00 for 20 shots, necessary for the single shooter.
